Ethereum ETFs Took In $225.8m, Their Biggest Daily Inflow in Ten Months
BlackRock's ETHA has taken about 72% of a $1.42bn nine-session run, and Thursday's haul came within $16.5m of US Bitcoin funds.

US spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds attracted $225.8m in net inflows on Thursday, their strongest session in ten months and the ninth consecutive day of net buying.
The total came within $16.5m of the $242.3m that US spot Bitcoin ETFs gathered the same day, according to Decrypt. That marks a sharp narrowing of the gap: on 17 August, the first day of both categories' current streaks, the Ethereum funds took in roughly a tenth of what the Bitcoin products did.
A nine-session streak
Farside Investors data showed the run has brought in about $1.42bn since 17 August. The last session with net outflows was 11 August, and 14 August was the only day since then with no net flow in either direction.
Thursday's figure was the largest daily total since 28 October last year.
BlackRock's ETHA has been the main destination. It has absorbed $1.02bn over the nine sessions, about 72% of the category total, and has recorded net buying on every one of those days. Blockchain analytics firm Arkham flagged the streak on Thursday, putting ETHA's intake over the first eight sessions at $889.8m, in line with Farside's count.
Fidelity's FETH has been the second-largest recipient and posted its best day of the run on Thursday, at $56.2m. BlackRock's staked Ethereum fund, ETHB, added $20.7m on the same day.
Demand from outside crypto
Max Shannon, a senior research associate at Bitwise Europe, put the week's Ethereum ETF inflows at $713.6m, matching the Farside tally. He attributed the buying to investors outside the crypto market and linked it to a sharp rise in Bitwise's Cross Asset Risk Appetite measure, which tracks risk-taking in traditional markets.
The source of the money matters. ETF flows are one of the clearest windows into demand from advisers, wealth managers and institutions, and a run driven by allocators in conventional portfolios can behave differently from one led by crypto-native traders rotating between tokens.
The concentration is also telling. When one issuer captures close to three-quarters of a category's flows, it often reflects the reach of its distribution network as much as any view on the underlying asset.
Ether itself has lagged. Shannon noted that since the broader crypto rally began on 19 August, capital has rotated into higher-beta large-cap tokens such as ZEC, XRP, SOL and HYPE, which have outperformed. Bitwise's dispersion index rose during the week, which he read as a sign that the market is being driven by a wider set of narratives.
ETH traded near $2,477 on Friday, down 0.5% over 24 hours and up about 5% on the week, according to CoinGecko.
Technical levels and volume
For the first time since slipping below it in late January, ether is now hovering near its 200-week moving average. Shannon described it as an important level for short- to medium-term momentum.
There is a complication. Investors accumulated roughly 1.1 million ETH around that price, and Shannon warned that this cohort could act as temporary resistance if holders sell into strength.
He also cautioned that the flows are reflexive and momentum-driven. To sustain them, he said, the market needs a pickup in spot trading. Spot volume has softened to its 16th percentile on a year-on-year basis since the rally began.
What to watch
The immediate test is whether the streak survives its first weak session. Three things will indicate whether the move has depth:
- whether ETHA keeps buying daily and other issuers take a larger share
- whether spot volumes recover alongside ETF demand
- how ETH trades around its 200-week moving average
For now, the flow data point to rising interest from traditional allocators. Whether that turns into a durable move in the token depends on demand showing up on spot venues as well.
