Who we are & how we work.

peatpost is an independent publication covering markets, business, politics, technology and crypto. These pages describe who publishes it, how stories are produced and sourced, what standards we follow, and how to reach us.

About

peatpost covers markets, business, politics, technology and crypto, with an Opinion section for argued pieces. Two kinds of story appear on the site: original reporting and opinion written by named staff, and stories from our aggregation desk, which carry an “Aggregated” byline, the name of the source publication and a link to the original article.

We are not a newsletter operator, not a token sponsor and not a paid promoter. We accept no payment for coverage, and every aggregated story links directly to the publication that did the reporting.

How the aggregation desk works

The aggregation desk is an automated pipeline. It pulls the RSS feeds of established publications, reads each new story, rewrites it in peatpost house style using Google Gemini, downloads the source image and publishes the result automatically. There is no human review before an aggregated story goes live.

The rewrite is instructed never to add facts, figures or quotes that are not in the source. Editors review the published list afterwards and correct or remove anything that falls short. Every aggregated story names its source and links to the original; the source’s own reporting is the canonical version.

Our sources

The source list is configured by the desk and can change without notice. At the time of writing it is CoinDesk, Decrypt, Cointelegraph, The Block, Bitcoin Magazine, CryptoSlate, Bitcoinist and NewsBTC.

We add sources on the strength of their editorial track record and remove them when that changes. We do not aggregate from anonymous blogs, promotional outlets, or publications that accept payment for coverage.

Editorial standards

Original reporting is written by named staff and reviewed by an editor before publication. Opinion pieces are labelled Opinion, carry the author’s name and represent the author’s view, not peatpost’s.

Aggregated stories are rewritten from the original reporting rather than excerpted. A rewrite may be shorter or reordered, but it should not say anything the source did not. If you find one that does, tell us and we will correct or remove it. Our full Editorial Guidelines are published at peatpost.com/ethics.

Fair use

Aggregated stories are published under fair use principles: they are rewritten rather than copied, they attribute the original publication by name, and they link back to the original story so the reader’s next click goes to the publisher that did the work.

If you represent a publication and have concerns about how your content appears on peatpost, write to editorial@peatpost.com. Formal rights-holder takedown requests follow the DMCA procedure in our Terms of Use and go to terms@peatpost.com.

Corrections

If a story on peatpost contains an error, email corrections@peatpost.com with the article URL and the specific issue. For original reporting we fix the piece and add a visible correction note.

For aggregated stories we check the source. If the source has issued a correction, we update our version to match. If the error was introduced by the rewrite, we fix or remove the story.

Ownership

peatpost is published by peatpost Editorial, an independent publication. It accepts no payment for coverage and has no token sponsor. No advertiser, sponsor, investor or commercial partner has any say over what we cover or any pre-publication view of it.

Any material change to ownership will be disclosed on this page.
